Rideshare Privacy Notice
DRAFT PENDING LICENSED US TNC COUNSEL REVIEW
Private owner/QA testing only. No real rides, charges or payouts. Not legally approved.
Draft dated October 12, 2026 · drive-rideshare-privacy-draft-2026-10-12-v1
Private testing and scope
This is the draft privacy notice for DRIVE, a US-only rideshare platform operated by Drive - Kansas LLC. Owner and authorized QA testing is sandbox-only, with no real rides or money. This notice describes the current testing system and intended safeguards, not a claim that privacy obligations or a launch retention schedule have been approved.
Information used
We handle account identifiers and contact information, trip pickup and destination details, status and timestamps, quotes, payment references, confirmed tips, ratings, support messages, emergency contact and sharing information, and testing acknowledgment records. Drivers may submit license, insurance and background-report documents. Stripe handles card and bank details directly; DRIVE records payment and payout status/references, not full card or bank account numbers.
GPS and trip sharing
With device permission, GPS can select pickup and share location during an active trip. A manually selected pickup must not be replaced by later GPS updates. Active-trip location is shared with the trip participants for coordination; it is not a public driver-location directory. Stop sharing through available controls or device permissions. A trip-sharing link gives its recipient limited trip information while valid; anyone you give it to may view that information until expiry or revocation. Do not post the link publicly. Location accuracy and updates are not guaranteed.
Purposes and disclosures
Data supports account access, private QA dispatch, trip coordination, safety, reviewer decisions, payment accounting, support and auditing. Trip participants receive information needed for their trip. Authorized staff and service providers receive only the access needed for their tasks. Information may be disclosed where legally required or for a valid safety/legal request. DRIVE does not describe this draft as consent to unrelated advertising or the sale of sensitive reports. Provider identities, disclosures and any applicable opt-outs must be finalized before launch.
Driver documents and consumer reports
Driver uploads are held in private storage scoped to the driver and authorized reviewers, not publicly visible. Uploaded reports and manual review do not establish that a third-party check was performed. No background/MVR vendor is connected in this build. Real consumer reports require separate approved disclosures, authorizations, jurisdictional notices and applicable copy, dispute and pre-adverse/adverse-action procedures. General Terms acceptance or a simulated testing consent is not authorization for real screening. AI interpretation alone cannot approve a driver.
Retention and deletion
This build stores trips, payment references, support records, driver documents and audit records; automatic deletion periods for all these categories are not yet finalized or implemented. Access controls are not a substitute for a retention policy. Counsel must determine category-specific periods, secure report disposal, backup handling and valid legal holds before launch. Ask through the contact below for access, correction or deletion. We must verify the requester and explain legally required retention or other applicable exceptions; no guaranteed immediate deletion or unsupported deadline is promised.
Security, permissions and rights
Account-scoped access and private document storage restrict access, but no system is completely secure. You can control location and notification permissions in device settings. Depending on your state and circumstances, privacy rights may include access, correction, deletion, portability, appeal and limits on sensitive-data use. State-specific notices, methods and response deadlines must be reviewed before launch. This private test is not intended for children; minors and accessibility policies remain launch-review items.
Support, automation and browser storage
Support may use AI assistance, but deterministic safety triage runs first and emergencies must never depend on an AI answer. Do not submit unnecessary sensitive details. Browser storage supports sign-in and preferences; device and technical records may support reliability and security. A complete vendor, cookie and analytics inventory, AI data-use terms and any necessary choices must be confirmed before launch.
Acknowledgment records and changes
Testing acknowledgment must identify the signed-in user, Rider or Driver role, exact Terms and Privacy draft versions, consent source and server/database time. It must not claim lawyer approval or real consumer-report authorization. Previous acceptance records are preserved; they do not count as acknowledgment of a changed draft. Material changes require updated notice and any fresh assent required by law.
